Nearly half – 48 percent – of major roads in Connecticut are in poor and mediocre condition, providing motorists with a rough ride. The following is a list of the ten sections of heavily traveled roads in Connecticut with the most deteriorated pavement condition.
TOP 10 WORST ROADS IN CONNECTICUT
- A desirable goal for state and local organizations that are responsible for road maintenance is to have 75% of major roads in good condition. Currently, only 33% of Connecticut's major roads are in good condition.
- The share of the state's major roads that are in need of significant repairs or reconstruction is anticipated to double by 2017 at the current rate of state spending on highway repairs.
It's only going to get worse. Please call your state representatives at the Capitol and urge them to take meaures to save and rebuild our transit system. It's up to all of us to keep Connecticut moving!
